Every country and culture approaches political science differently. The best way to gain a well-rounded and diverse view of the field of political science is to live and study in another country.

Study Abroad with UO
The University of Oregon offers more than 10 study abroad programs that can satisfy your political science major (or minor) requirements. Programs are currently offered in Tanzania, Bolivia, or England. Alternatively, you can intern abroad through the GlobalWorks International Internship program in a variety of regions around the world.
International Exchange
Students can enroll as an exchange student at a top international research institution for fall or winter semester, spring semester or quarter, a full academic year, or summer term. Exchange students experience an immersive study abroad experience, living and learning with local students in their chosen city.

Featured Study Abroad Opportunities in Political Science
Applicants to this program have the option to apply for a program-specific scholarship. Award recipients are chosen based on academic merit, financial need, and overall quality of their essay. Individual awards range from $500 - $1,500. To be considered, apply to the GEO General Scholarship by the advertised deadline for the term you will be abroad.

Immerse yourself in the political landscape of Italy, in a historical and philosophical sense, with exposure to contemporary Italian politics and the relationship between Italy and the European Union. The beautiful Tuscan city of Siena will provide a backdrop for the course, which will be supplemented with a visit to Florence. Several excursions to other cities and towns in Tuscany, and elsewhere, are an integral part of this program.

Internship opportunities are highly customizable, and we guarantee placement in your preferred career fields and location. Students earn up to eight (8) UO credits as well as life-changing work experience in a different culture.
