Many women’s, gender, and sexuality studies majors seek internships within their chosen field.


Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Internship Program

Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies majors gain hand-on experience by securing an internship and taking WGSS 411/511: Feminist Praxis Internship Seminar during fall term. Required for all WGSS majors, this class is the “senior capstone” devoted to helping students apply the theories and skills learned as a WGSS major into “career readiness” language for seeking satisfying work. The course is only offered fall term and consists of a three-hour weekly seminar meeting and a 5-hour internship.

The University of Oregon Career Center provides career and job search assistance, offers strategies for choosing a career, and helps connect students with local and global internship opportunities. Students participating in internships can earn up to 12 upper-division credits in a 10-week term.
