Students in the Department of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies explore multiple dimensions of power as they revisit and revise histories, critically analyze and evaluate economic disparities, and learn to effect transformational social change through creative problem solving.

Our interdisciplinary program explores the intersections of gender, race, class, and sexuality, as well as the institutional structures that have an impact on women’s and men’s lives. Through the lens of feminist theory and herstory, we seek to explain and influence the status of women and men in society.

Graduate students already pursuing a master’s or PhD at UO can explore feminist scholarship and theory, engage in research through the Center for the Study of Women in Society, and earn professional credentials.
