Associated Graduate Students in Geography
The Associated Graduate Students in Geography (AGSG) at the University of Oregon strives to maintain a productive and socially cohesive environment for graduate students in the Department of Geography. Our goal is to provide leadership, organization, and represent the interests of the geography graduate student community. We plan cohort-building and social events, invite colloquium speakers based on graduate nominations, attend faculty meetings and liaise with faculty in support of graduate student interests, and facilitate professional development opportunities (such as conference and workshop attendance) for Geography graduate students.
If you are a graduate student in Geography, please request to join AGSG on our student organization page.

UO ASPRS Student Chapter
Join the UO student chapter of the ASPRS – the Imaging & Geospatial Information Society! We offer:
- Remote sensing and spatial analysis training opportunities!
- Scholarships and grants from the national chapter
- Travel and conference support
- Research grants
- A community for learning
As a student chapter, the UO ASPRS strives to provide students access to and interaction with professionals in fields using remote sensing and geospatial analysis.
The chapter raises and provides money for student member travel grants and research funding awards, and actively attends Columbia River Region ASPRS activities and workshops. In addition, the student chapter brings guest lecturers to the UO campus to speak on topics of interest in the geospatial sciences.
Founded in 1934, the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) is a scientific association serving over 7,000 professional members around the world. Our mission is to advance knowledge and improve understanding of mapping sciences to promote the responsible applications of photogrammetry, remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), and supporting technologies.
