Complete a GlobalWorks internship with a health focus
GlobalWorks connects academic study with real-world experiences by providing undergraduate students with full-time internship opportunities in various career sectors. GlobalWorks works with local professionals worldwide so students can earn credits and life-changing work experience in a different culture.
Peer Wellness Advocate via UO Duck Nest
Global Health minors accepted and trained as a peer wellness facilitator can register for 4.00 units of individualized study credits to satisfy the Practical Experience requirement.
Oregon Public Health Corps
Global Health minors accepted and trained by the Oregon Public Health Corps can register for 4.00 units of individualized study credits with Dr. Jeff Measelle to satisfy the Practical Experience requirement.
Volunteer with a Local Organization
These are Eugene-based organizations with which we have existing partnerships. Reach out to them directly for a volunteer or internship experience.
- HIV Alliance: The group works to offer clients HIV-specific care and prevention services and reduce all barriers to wellness, including sexual health education, prevention and harm reduction services, and hepatitis C case management.
- Daisy Chain: Considered a leader in the community for doula, lactation, pregnancy, birthing, and parenting resources, Daisy Chain has been serving clients since 2012. The organization's mission is to provide the community with research and evidence-based support services and education for individuals and families in their reproductive years
- Mobility International, USA: This nonprofit works to advance disability rights worldwide by empowering people with disabilities to achieve their human rights through international exchange and international development.
