Study Abroad

Many geography students find themselves naturally interested in study abroad opportunities. These opportunities can be somewhere in the United States or anywhere in the world. Several organizations provide academic credit for study abroad, whether you are taking classes in Italy or backpacking around Nepal. Very few study abroad programs offer classes with a geography subject code. However, our perspective is that you will learn far more about a place and the processes that shape it by going there and engaging with that place.

If you think you have a study abroad opportunity that might count for geography credit, please reach out to Leslie McLees, the Undergraduate Director and Advisor, at geogadvr@uoregon.eduto explore how we can make it work.

Wildlands Studies

Wildlands Studies offers shorter experiences out in the field, mostly doing work that explores human-environment interactions. These transfer very easily to a geography degree.
