ANTHROPOLOGY - University of Oregon College of Arts and Sciences researcher Lynn Stephen was elected in April to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, with 250 other leaders in academia, industry, the arts and more. Stephen is an anthropologist whose research on immigration and asylum, gender-based violence, race, and Indigenous communities in Mexico, Guatemala and the diaspora in California and the Northwest.

ANTHROPOLOGY - CHC and College of Arts and Sciences senior Bella Albiani studies the link between homelessness and food insecurity. The work to understand one of society’s most intractable issues has no end, but that’s what compels Albiani to stay with it.

ANTHROPOLOGY - Laura Pulido, a professor of Indigenous, race, and ethnic studies and geography at the University of Oregon, has been named to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Pulido’s work exploring the intersections of race, class, and environmental issues contributed to the formation and recognition of the field of environmental justice.

ANTHROPOLOGY, GLOBAL HEALTH - Mentored by professors Jo Weaver of global studies and Josh Snodgrass of anthropology, CAS students in this research group all share a common goal: conducting interdisciplinary research with a social impact.
